ABOUT THE GUIDEBOOK

WHAT'S THE GUIDEBOOK?

Guidebook (n)

guide·book |  ɡīdˌbo͝ok

By definition, a guidebook is a book of information about a place, designed for the use of visitors or tourists. This Advertising Guidebook is a collection of all of the resources and information I've gathered over the years in advertising to help those just starting out in the industry.

WHY DID I MAKE IT?

I originally created The Advertising Guidebook to provide advertising students with resources to help them dive into the world of advertising, specifically with my list of agencies and also with the data resources planners/strategists might need to know. When I was a young planner, I spent a lot of time digging for information and not enough time thinking about the information, so I want to help others skip the search by providing all tools up front.

OK, SO IT'S ONLY FOR STRATEGISTS?

No, not anymore. This website is full of lists across the board from research tools to free creative resources to portfolio and jobs search help. It's got a little bit of everything now. If you find it useful, it's for you.

ONE QUICK NOTE BEFORE YOU GO...

Apologies to my international friends as this site is very US centric and may not be as helpful to my friend across the globe. One day I might dabble in other territories but for now, most of these resources are focused on the North American market.

WHAT IF I WANT TO MAKE A SUGGESTION OR EDIT?

Please do! I made this over the course of a very long time so I imagine there will be typos and such so I appreciate your sharp eyes. And I am happy to add any recommendations you might have that I missed. You can email me on my contact page here.
